‘Mithai ke jagah tickets bhejega’ – Fans react as man gets arrested for selling tickets at higher price during ODI WC 2023
Big news is coming from West Bengal. A man named Aniket Agarwal has been arrested by the West Bengal police in Kolkata for indulging himself in selling tickets at a higher price in the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023. It is a well-known fact that the tickets for some of the matches in the ongoing ODI World Cup in India are in huge demand.
Some of the people, like the above-mentioned guys, are taking huge advantage of the situation. The man has been caught selling tickets at a way too high price than normal. Police got to know about the act of Aniket and arrested him. As police enquired him, he was found guilty. It has led to the disappointment of fans, who have been struggling to get tickets for some of the matches.
The tickets for India’s matches are in huge demand in particular. The Indian Cricket Board does not sell the tickets for India’s matches concurrently with those of the other matches. When they do sell them, the fans are in a hurry to purchase them. They are priced at a higher rate than the tickets of other matches. It has led to a pathetic experience for the fans.
Man caught selling 20 tickets at a higher price than usual
Aniket was reportedly selling the tickets priced at INR 2500 to INR 11000. The man was found selling 20 such tickets. The tickets belonged to the match between India and South Africa, which is set to be held on the 5th of November. The Bengal Cricket Association is set to celebrate the birthday of Virat Kohli on the day.
Snehasish Ganguly, the President of the board, claimed that the board has been planning to arrange fireworks, cake-cutting and other ceremonies. Hence, the demand to get tickets for the match is a lot higher than that for the other matches. It will be India’s last match against a big opponent in the group stage of the ODI World Cup 2023. With the facilities in Eden Gardens, everyone wishes to take part in the grand event.
