India and Australia are in action in Ahmedabad, playing in the fourth and final Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) series test. The final match is of great importance to both sides. While the hosts have a spot on the line in the final of the Test Championship to be played at the Oval in June, the visitors are looking to avoid a third-straight Test series defeat against India. Notably, India won the last two BGT Test series in Australia, setting themselves up for third-straight Test series win against the men from down under.

On Day 2, a special moment in the game went viral when Shubman Gill hit Nathan Lyon for a huge maximum down the ground in the second ball of the tenth over. A spectator then had to go deep under the sheets near the side screen to recover the ball for the players to resume play. The photos and videos of the incident have gone viral online, sparking reactions from fans.

Regarding the ongoing fourth and final Test in Ahmedabad, the visitors won the toss and elected to bat first on a pitch that seemed batter-friendly at first glance. The Kangaroos rode on centuries by opener Usman Khawaja (180 off 422) and Cameron Green (114 off 170), reaching 480 before being bowled out on Day 2. Khawaja remained the star of the day for Australia despite losing his chance at a double hundred, getting out at the score of 180.

Star spinner Ravichandran Ashwin remained the pick of the bowlers for India as he returned with figures of 6/91 from 47.2 overs. Mohammed Shami picked up a couple of wickets as Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel returned with one scalp apiece in the game. In reply, India got off to a good start, with openers Rohit Sharma (17 off 33) and Shubman Gill (18 off 27) surviving the day.
