PCB Chairman’s strict instructions to Chief Selector regarding Haris Rauf

Pakistan were off to a winning start as they defeated West Indies in the first of the three-match ODI series. World’s no.1 One-day batter Babar Azam was once again the main man behind their victory as he scored a match-winning ton. Despite conceding 305 runs to West Indies, Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf was the star of the show by picking up four wickets in the match.

However, he conceded 77 runs in his 10-over quota and that did not go well with the current PCB Chairman, Ramiz Raja. He sent strict instructions to Chief Selector Mohammad Wasim to tell Rauf to learn how to bowl at an accurate line and length.

“Play Haris in T20I matches only till he has improved his line and length,” – Ramiz Raja

Former Pakistan batter also ordered Wasim not to pick him for One-day Internationals until he improves his line and length. As per sources, he said: “Tell Haris to learn how to bowl at an accurate line and length. Select him for ODIs when he has improved this area of his bowling. Play Haris in T20I matches only till he has improved his line and length,”

Ramiz also stated his disappointment regarding the quality of the production of the ongoing series. He issued an order to replace the digital screen at the Multan Cricket Stadium.

“Our production of matches is not at all good as compared to the Indian T20 league. Please make sure that the production of the remaining matches is better,” said Ramiz Raja, as quoted by Samaa TV.

Ramiz also provided an update regarding his tenure as the PCB Chairman and the future of former Pakistan captain, Sarfaraz Ahmed. He said: “I will complete my tenure at all costs. Najam Sethi can only dream about becoming PCB Chairman. We have a new wicketkeeper-batter in the shape of Muhammad Haris. It seems that the career of Sarfaraz Ahmed is almost over,”

Further on, PCB Chairman then dismissed the chances of hosting the Pakistan T20 Leauge matches in Peshawar. “I heard Javed Afridi [Peshawar Zalmi owner] say that they are making a top-notch stadium in Peshawar but that wasn’t the case when I looked at it. It looks really bad and the material issued is of low quality. Peshawar is not ready to host PSL matches. We will use stadiums in Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi.” he concluded.
