On Tuesday’s episode of the “360 Show,” AB de Villiers invited Virat Kohli for a lighthearted conversation in which they discussed the best and worst runners they had ever used between wickets. Faf du Plessis was chosen by De Villiers, while Kohli chose MS Dhoni, an interesting choice given that the two best friends were not permitted to take each other’s names.

Virat teamed up with De Villiers, a longtime friend and former teammate at Bangalore, for a fun live session before the third One-Day International between India and Australia in Chennai. Throughout the session, they discussed interesting facts from their respective careers.

In addition to discussing the ODI World Cup in 2011 and the 20-20 World Cup match against Pakistan last year as the “greatest atmospheres” he has played in, Virat Kohli also shared how he met his wife, Anushka Sharma.

‘With MS I would not even have to call for a run’ – AB de Villiers

Virat and Ab de Villiers engaged in a lengthy discussion before playing in a session of “quick singles” in which they were asked to identify the fastest runner between wickets they had ever played with.

So, it comes as no surprise that Kohli chose Dhoni’s name given that the former Indian skipper was renowned for having lightning-fast reflexes between the 22-yard line, while De Villiers went with his countryman Du Plessis. Virat even admitted that when he was playing with Dhoni and ABD, he didn’t even need to call between the wickets.

“Ofcourse, its not even a question, I have been asked this question before, AB (De Villiers) has by far been the fastest I have run with between wickets, the only other guy I had so much coordination and understanding with was MS (Dhoni). Now I don’t know about the speeds between the wickets, but with him and MS I would not even have to call,” said the 34-year-old.

When asked to name the worst runner between the wickets, Kohli responded, “Cheteshwar Pujara,” albeit in jest. He acknowledged that his decision would be contentious.

Here’s how fans reacted to Kohli’s statement:
