‘Put yourself and see how you feel’ – Fans Slam Indian Players For Ignoring Rishabh Pant Based On A Viral Video During The Australia Series

After experiencing a poor Asia Cup campaign, India locked horns with the Aussies at home for a three-match T20I series. However, despite losing the series opener, team India made a comeback. Finally, they managed to win the series at a margin of 2-1 over the current World Champions of the shortest format of the game. On 25 September 2022, India played the series decider in Hyderabad against Australia. Speaking of the match, Rohit Sharma won the toss and he asked the Aussies to bat first.

For Australia, skipper Aaron Finch and Cameron Green came out to open the inning. Cameron Green scored 52 runs off 21 balls, including seven fours and three sixes. He batted at a massive strike rate of 247.61. Then, other batters failed to contribute until Tim David came out to bat. He notched up his maiden T20I fifty for Australia as he hit 54 runs off 27 balls. He hit two fours and four sixes at a strike rate of 200.

However, Australia scored 186 runs for seven wickets in 20 overs. For India, Axar Patel took three wickets for 33 runs in four overs. In reply, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul came out to open. But, both openers went back to the dugout cheaply. Then, Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav stitched up a partnership of 104 runs. Ultimately, Kohli scored 63 runs off 48 balls while Yadav scored 69 runs off 36 balls only. In the end, Hardik Pandya scored 25* runs off 16 balls as India chased down the target in 19.5 overs.

Suryakumar Yadav won the player of the match award while Axar Patel won the player of the series award. However, Rishabh Pant did not play in that match. In fact, he only got a chance in the second match where he did not get the opportunity to bat. However, a video went viral on Twitter where Indian senior players were seen talking together during the post-match presentation ceremony. But, Rishabh Pant was seen completely alone and lost as no players saw or tried to involve him in the conversation. Based on this video, fans started to blame senior players and the team management for ignoring the Indian wicketkeeper.
