In the recently concluded Asia Cup 2022, Pakistan played well as they qualified for the final. However, they lost to Sri Lanka in the final. Now, ahead of the 20-20 World Cup, they are hosting England in a seven-match T20I series at home. But, after that Asia Cup final, an unwanted incident took place involving Ramiz Raja.

This former Pakistani cricketer is currently the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board. In a viral video, it was seen that he snatched the phone of an Indian journalist when he asked Ramiz for some messages for the people of Pakistan. Now, Ramiz Raja came up with a clarification regarding that incident.

“The question he asked was inappropriate.” – Ramiz Raja

Speaking on his YouTube channel, the Pakistan Cricket Board’s chairman talked to some fans on ‘Fans Forum with Ramiz.’ On that show, he said that question was inappropriate from that journalist. Ramiz said: Main apko batata hu. Unke jo questions the, jo line thi wo bilkul theek nahi the. Unka kehna ka matlab tha ki Pakistan ji janta khasi naraz hain team se. Toh maine bas unse yahi pucha ki aapko kaise pata ki sab log naraz hain team se. (The question he asked was inappropriate. He stated that the whole country is upset with the team. I simply asked him how he knew  that?).”

The former Pakistani player added that such a question was conveying the wrong messages only. It only provoked all the Paksitani fans around the globe. Speaking of that incident, it all started when Ramiz Raja was coming out of the Dubai International stadium after the final. The Indian journalist was there along with other reporters. He asked Ramiz Raja about some messages for the people of Pakistan after this loss.

He asked: “The people must be unhappy. Any message for them?”. Ramiz replied: “You must be from India, your people must be very happy”. Then, he said: “No, we are not happy.” In reply to that, Ramiz Raja asked: “Which people?”.  Then, that journalist said: “I’ve seen Pakistani fans go back crying after the loss. Am I saying something wrong?”. Then, Ramiz concluded: “You are generalizing ‘the people’”. After this, he was seen trying to snatch that journalist’s phone also.
