After a wait of 17 years, Pakistan is hosting England on their home soil. In September this year, the Asian country played its first T20I series at home against the Three Lions. Before this, both teams played each in the shortest format either in the UK or in the UAE. Meanwhile, talking about the series this year, it was a seven-match series.

Close to three months after this, both teams will play the second leg of the series. It consists of Three Tests in Pakistan for the first time since 2005. The series will start on December 1 with both teams locking horns in Rawalpindi. Meanwhile, ahead of the series, Pakistan Cricket Board chairperson, Ramiz Raja was watching the Quaid-E-Azam final.

After the game, he spoke to the players and said that if the national team wants to make headlines, they need to beat England at home.

“I have given just one message to the players that if they want to make world headlines they have to beat England in the series,” he said.

First Test might get postponed as England are ‘unwell’

Meanwhile, the first Test, scheduled to start on December 1, might get postponed. Apparently, the England players are unwell which is why the trophy unveiling ceremony has been postponed too.

“The PCB and ECB are in discussions regarding the commencement of the 1st #PAKvENG Test as some England players are down with viral infection,” the board said on Twitter.

“The PCB continues to monitor the situation, is in contact with the ECB and will provide further updates in due course.”

“It’s hard to say, I haven’t seen anyone this morning,” he said, adding: “I don’t think it’s food poisoning or Covid or anything like that, it’s just one of those things that we have unfortunately picked up as a group.

“I felt unwell yesterday and woke up feeling much better today, so hopefully it’s a 24-hour thing.
