Rashid Khan Recalls A Tale Related To Virat Kohli Ahead of The Asia Cup 2022

All Asian teams are gearing up for the upcoming edition of the Asia Cup in UAE. India will kick off their campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan on 28 August 2022. Hence, teams started preparations in UAE ahead of the competition. However, on 24 August 2022, it was seen that Virat Kohli met several players like Rashid Khan and Babar Azam while he was busy doing net sessions.

Now, Rashid Khan opened up on a tale related to the star Indian batter during the last edition of the Indian T20 League. Since 2019, Kohli failed to score big scores for India across all formats. But, Rashid claimed that he was shocked when he saw Kohli, batting in the nats for his Bangalore franchise.

Talking to a sports presenter Sawera Pasha, this Afghanistan spinner said that he was shocked to see Virat batting for hours during the Indian T20 League 2022. He also said that Virat was completely positive as he scored 70 odd runs against his Hyderabad franchise.

Rashid Khan said: “During the Indian T20 League, we had a match the next day against Bangalore. In the nets, I was just counting the time Virat was out there. To be honest, he batted for two and half hours. Main Aisa hairan Hua (I was so shocked). Our nets were finished and still, he was there batting. The next day he scored around 70 against us. His mindset is very positive,”

Speaking of Virat Kohli’s form, he failed to score a ton for his teams in any format since 2019. He last played in the England tour. There, also he failed to convert his starts. After that, he took a rest from both the West Indies and Zimbabwe tours. Now, he will be eager to get back in action for India in the upcoming Asia Cup. Speaking on the Star Sports show ‘Game Plan, Kohli said: “I know where my game stands and you cannot run this far in your international career without having the ability to counter situations and counter conditions and counter different kinds of bowling. So, this, for me, is an easier phase to process, but I don’t want to put this phase behind me,”
