Ravindra Jadeja has been an integral part of the Indian squad for a long time now. The team is highly dependent on the all-rounder and that is all because of his all-rounding prowess. An official from the Indian cricket board has now revealed the reason for his injury. Ravindra Jadeja, India’s star all-rounder was the best in business in the Asia Cup 2022. However, after the Hong Kong match, the all-rounder sustained an injury out of nowhere and was ruled out of the entire tournament.

Fans are still shocked and puzzled about the reason behind the injury. Now an official from the Indian cricket board has revealed to the Times of India that he got injured while doing a skiing activity. The official further revealed on condition of anonymity that the all-rounder is all set to miss the 20-20 World Cup 2022. He had to balance himself on some kind of a ski-board as part of an adventure activity – not part of the training manual at all. It was absolutely unnecessary. He slipped and twisted his knee badly, which led to surgery,” the official said to The Times of India.

The sources have further revealed to the Times of India that the coach has not lost his cool about it.  “What’s surprising here is, that Head Coach Rahul Dravid hasn’t ‘lost his cool’ given how the injury occurred. Ideally, one would have expected Dravid to question this entire process. All said the bottom line is – India will travel to Australia without Jadeja,” Times of India quotes sources as saying.

Ravindra Jadeja’s stint in the Asia Cup 2022

Ravindra Jadeja proved his worth in the very first match of the Asia Cup 2022. The all-rounder bowled an economical spell with the ball in the first match against Pakistan. After the top order collapse, Ravindra Jadeja came in at number four and smashed 35 runs off 29 balls. He and Hardik Pandya joined hands to provide India with a thrilling win in the very first match.

In the second match against Hong Kong, the all-rounder produced an economical spell. He conceded only fifteen runs off his spell and picked up a scalp to his name. India will miss his services in the 20-20 World Cup and it might be difficult to find a perfect replacement.
