According to the reports, Hyderabad assistant coach Simon Katich has resigned from the job months ahead of the upcoming season of the Indian T20 League. It is believed that Katich has resigned after the franchise didn’t follow the pre-auction plans during the mega auction held last weekend. Also, the former cricketer was reportedly not happy with the way the team was managed.

Since last year, the 2016 winners have been involved in numerous controversies. Last year, they sacked David Warner as skipper and dropped him from the playing XI mid-season. Kane Williamson was given the responsibility of leading the team in remaining games.

After being dropped, the left-hander was also not allowed to travel to the stadium with the team. A lot of experts were unhappy with the way Hyderabad dealt with their star player. Subsequently, he was released by the team as well. After this, Trevor Bayliss and Brad Haddin also resigned from their roles. Bayliss worked as the head coach of the team in seasons 2020 and 2021. Haddin, on the other hand, was appointed as assistant coach in 2019.

Meanwhile, the Orange Army has made a lot of changes in the team. They had retained their skipper Kane Williamson and two uncapped Indian players, Abdul Samad and Umran Malik. Last weekend, they bought back the likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Priyam Garg, T. Natarajan, Abhishek Sharma and, J Suchith. They bought new players such as Washington Sundar, Nicholas Pooran, Aiden Markram, Marco Jansen, Sean Abbott, etc.
