The T20 World Cup is all set to take place in Australia later this year. All top teams are gearing up for this mega event. Now, former Australia legend, Ricky Pointing came up with his confirmed winner for this upcoming World Cup. The World Cup is going to take place in Australia.

Meanwhile, Australia is the reigning T20 Champions after winning the last edition. Hence, the former Australian batter said that the home conditions will help his country in defending the title this year again. However, he chose India as the other finalist to play against Australia for the trophy.

“I think India and Australia will be the two playing in the final” – Ricky Pointing

Speaking on an episode of the Governing body of cricket’s review show, Pointing said that Australia is most likely to win the T20 World Cup. He said: “I think India and Australia will be the two playing in the final and I will just have to say that Australia will beat them in the final,” He also said that home conditions will suit them most and the way they managed last time in the UAE conditions, it was remarkable.

Pointing added: “The reigning champions have got home conditions and that was one thing that made Australia’s win in the last World Cup, not remarkable, but that little bit sweeter for them. The fact that a lot of people, me included, thought when they went to UAE, the conditions that they were going to have to face on the back of the Indian T20 League, I thought the conditions might have been the thing that might not have allowed them to win it. But they found a way.”

Speaking about the possible threats to Australia, Pointing praised England’s approach in the White-ball format. I actually think England is an outstanding white-ball team and they have an outstanding white-ball setup. I just think the three teams on paper that look to have the most class and the most match-winners are India, Australia, and England.” Pointing concluded.
