In the WWE, Roman Reigns is without a doubt one of the best of all time. He will soon join the company’s all-time great champions when he completes the remaining 43 days of the season. His reign has lasted 984 days so far, which is only 43 days short of Pedro Morales’ record of 1027 days as the world champion. He would be the first celebrity to do it in 36 years.

The amazing record was last broken by Hulk Hogan in October 1987. Since that time, no one in WWE has even come close to a 1027-day reign as world champion. On January 23, 1984, Hogan won the WWF championship during a program on the MSG Network. He surpassed Pedro Morales’ record in 1987 but fell short against Andre the Giant in 1988.

Only two other superstars had reigns that were longer than Pedro Morales’ before Hogan. Bruno Sammartino had two significant reigns of 1237 days and 2803 days, while Bob Backlund had a 1470-day reign. Roman Reigns doesn’t seem to have a genuine opponent in the WWE who will challenge him before he hits that milestone. He will thus almost certainly set that tremendous record, that much is certain.

Reigns has continued to rule the WWE for 1000 days

The next record would be Sammartino’s 1237-day rule, which he has 153 days left to surpass. If he succeeds in taking it, Hulk Hogan’s and Bob Backlund’s reigns would be up next. But for both, he would have to keep the position for more than a year.

Given how long Reigns has retained the title, WWE even debuted a new World Heavyweight Championship for RAW. According to the interview, Marty Garner expressed a desire to confront Roman Reigns when speaking with Fightful. The former WWE Superstar, who last competed for the promotion in 2008, talked about joining it again.

Reigns has continued to rule the WWE despite all the attention he has received, and he is daily getting closer to the 1000-day milestone as the Universal Champion. The Bloodline has made the star seem invincible over the past several years, and despite a number of stars coming close, no one has been able to remove him from the titles as of yet.
