Wasim Akram‘s autobiography ‘Sultan: A Memoir‘ has created fresh controversy as he and Salim Malik are locking horns. It all started with the former left-arm pacer claiming Malik treated him like a servant and was selfish.

“He would take advantage of my junior status. He was negative, selfish and treated me like a servant. He demanded I massage him; he ordered me to clean his clothes and boots. I was angry when some of the younger team members in Ramiz, Tahir, Mohsin, Shoaib Mohammad invited me to nightclubs,” read an excerpt from Akram’s book.

Now, Salim has hit back against the former pacer’s statements. The former has said that Akram’s comments didn’t make any sense as the players used to get laundry machines to wash their clothes

“I wanted to ask him for his view on his comments and in what sense did he write that. We used to go on tour for Pakistan tours, there used to be laundry machines there. He never had to use their hands,” he said while speaking to 24 News.

The former Essex player further added that Wasim is making these comments for publicity. Malik also said that he won’t be making any further comments before reading the entire book

“It looks like he did it for publicity.”

“Till I don’t talk to him or I don’t check his book. I don’t want to comment on it. We are colleagues and spent good time together. So I don’t want to create any controversy.”

“If I was selfish, then how did he play his first match under me? So why would I let him bowl,” he asked.

“The way he is talking about clothes and massage, he is insulting himself. Till I don’t talk to him, I won’t know in what sense he wrote it”, he further added.
