In the recently concluded Asia Cup campaign, India had a poor show. They failed to qualify for the final of the tournament despite having a good start. Now, they will look to do well in the upcoming 20-20 World Cup in Australia. However, on 12 September 2022, India announced their final squad for that mega event.

On the other hand, Pakistan reached the final of the Asia Cup. But, they failed to win the match against Sri Lanka. However, they will hope to do well in the World Cup, especially having both Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan in their lineup. Now, former Pakistani batter, Salman Butt said that those batters should not be compared to the Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma.

“Only AB de Villiers comes close to Rohit Sharma” – Salman Butt

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Butt said that there is no comparison between Rohit Sharma and Babar Azam or Mohammad Rizwan. He even insisted that if Rohit had half of Virat Kohli’s fitness, he could reach a different level than any other. Butt also added that at that level, only AB de Villiers can come close to Rohit Sharma.

Butt said: “Unka (Rohit) comparison nahi banta (with Babar and Rizwan). With his set of skills, Rohit ki fitness Kohli se aadhi bhi ho, toh usse zyada destructive player nahi hai. Fir uska aur sirf AB de Villiers ka match reh jaata hai, beechme koi player nahi aata. Agar woh (Rohit) bohot fit hotey Kohli ki tarah toh pata nahi woh kya kartey.” (Rohit can’t be compared with Babar and Rizwan. With his set of skills, Rohit would be the most destructive player if his fitness levels were half as good as Kohli’s. Only AB de Villiers comes close to him.)

Speaking about India, they will be in action against Australia in a three-match T20I series on home soil. The series will start on 20 September and it will run until 25 September 2022. Eventually, it will be a huge test for Rohit Sharma and his boys ahead of the World Cup.
