On October 15, 2023, at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, a high-stakes match between India and Pakistan is scheduled. The contest will be a part of the ODI World Cup, which will occur in India in October and November of 2023. Cricket fans can’t wait to witness the championship match between the two teams.

One of the most heated and closely watched matches in the sport of cricket is the rivalry between India and Pakistan. Off the pitch, however, political stalemates and security issues have frequently made it difficult for the two nations’ games to be conducted smoothly. When Pakistan’s security team had concerns about the security measures in Dharamsala in 2016, the T20 World Cup match between India and Pakistan was moved from Dharamsala to Kolkata.

Meanwhile, some of the cricket governing body’s officials have travelled to Pakistan to ensure and secure the Men in Green’s participation in the upcoming major World League. Earlier, there was some dispute between the Indian Cricket Board and the Pakistan Cricket Board as there were doubts about Pakistan participating in the ODI World Cup as the Indian Cricket Board refused to send the Indian players to Pakistan for Asia Cup.

Geoff Allardice, our CEO, and Greg are in Pakistan: Wasim Khan

The dates and schedule for Asia Cup are likely to be announced in the starting week of June. Meanwhile, the cricket governing body’s General Manager Wasim Khan talked about Pakistan’s participation in the World Cup on Monday, May 29. Wasim revealed that CEO Geoff Allardice and Greg are in Pakistan to talk about Pakistan’s security in the World Cup tour.

“That’s something that’s obviously ongoing at the moment, Geoff Allardice, our CEO, and Greg are in Pakistan at the moment discussing a number of areas with the PCB hierarchy. But that’s certainly up to the two countries and the hierarchy within the apex cricket body to discuss them and come to some conclusions,” Wasim said in the press conference.
