Shadab Khan wins everyone’s heart by showing wonderful gesture against West Indies

Pakistan came out victorious in the second ODI against the West Indies. They beat the visitors by 120 runs on 10 June 2022. Pakistan’s vice-captain Shadab Khan had a very good match with both bat and ball as he scored valuable 22 runs off 23 balls, along with two crucial wickets with his bowling in nine overs.

However, a surprising moment happened when a pitch intruder stormed into the ground while Shadab Khan was batting in the first innings. The all-rounder remained calm, and his gesture toward the fan won everyone’s heart. In fact, that fan’s day was made as he got back to the stands after meeting Shadab in a celebratory mood. A video of this incident went viral on social media.

Here is that video clip from a Twitter account:

Ian Bishop praises Shadab for showing such a gesture

Former West Indies cricketer Ian Bishop also heaped high praises for him as he remained so calm and gave the fan a heartily hug. He wrote on Twitter: “Great moment just now when a spectator ran onto the field. Instead of being violent with him (because it could have been dangerous, plus COVID), Shadab Khan hugged him and sent him on his way. #Beautiful. P:S, I understand all the reasons why that is frowned upon,”

Speaking about the match, Pakistan won the toss and opted to bat first. They put up a score of 275 by losing eight wickets. Once again, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam played a good inning (77 off 39). He was well supported by Imam-ul-Haq, who scored 72 runs off 72 balls. In reply, the West Indies failed to gain any momentum as they got bundled for 155 runs in just 32.2 overs. Mohammad Nawaz was the player of the match as he picked up four wickets by conceding only 19 runs in his 10 overs.

Pakistan are scheduled to face the Windies again for the third ODI match in Multan on 12 June (Sunday). After wrapping up the series, the host will look for a clean sweep over the visitors in the upcoming fixture.
