India and Pakistan are locking horns in the Super 12 round game of the ongoing 20-20 World Cup 2022 in Melbourne. After winning the toss, the 2007 winners decided to bowl first. Sharma cited grass on the wicket and overcast conditions for the decision. “Looks like a good pitch, a bit of grass, and it’s a little overcast, so the ball might swing around a little bit, so we’ll try and use that to our advantage,” Rohit said. “Very much sorted with our preparation now. It’s time to come out and enjoy ourselves.”

The decision was proved right by left-arm swing bowler, Arshdeep Singh in the powerplay. He came into bowl in the second over of the innings and instantly took the big wicket of Babar Azam. The white Kookaburra swung sharply towards the leg stump. It hit Azam on the front pad and the right-hander was given out by the umpire.

Azam challenge the on-field only to find it was the right one. After this, the Punjab player took out Azam’s opening partner, Mohammad Rizwan with a sharp bouncer

Arshdeep Singh didn’t have a great finish though

The 2018 U19 winner came back to bowl his remaining overs in the slog overs. In the 17th over, he conceded only nine runs and took a wicket. At this stage, it looked like he might complete a five-wicket haul as Pakistan had lost seven wickets and were into the tailenders. However, just like the Men’s Asia Cup 2022, the 19th over of the innings came back to haunt the former champions.

Arshdeep went on to concede 14 runs in the over with Shaheen Afridi hitting a six. Notably, the latter targeted the longest boundary in the stadium. Talking about Arshdeep’s bowling figures, it reads 4-0-32-3. Nevertheless, the cricket fraternity and the fans are praising his effort.
