The action has continued in the ongoing Big Bash League 2022-23. During the course of the tournament, players have pulled great catches and displayed other skills at a higher level. Meanwhile, in the recently concluded, Sydney derby (Sydney Sixers vs Sydney Thunders), all-rounder Ben Cutting took a screamer at third man boundary. The incident happened in the second innings when the Sixers were batting.

In the third over of the innings, James Vince tried to step out and slash the bowler. However, the bowler, Brendon Doggett bowled an outswinger way outside the off-stump. In reply, the England player tried to reach but could only edge the ball towards the deep third-man region. Cutting ran towards the ball and jumped over his head to take a brilliant catch and dismiss Vince

Talking about the game, the three-time winners, Sixers won the toss and elected to bowl first. The decision was proved right as they picked three wickets for 12 runs. At this stage, Sam Whiteman and Alex Ross put together 62 runs for the fourth wicket. Before the former could get to his fifty, he lost his wicket after scoring 42. Two overs later, Ross followed after getting 34.

After this, the wickets kept falling and the 2015-16 winners finished 133/8 with Cutting playing a cameo of 26 off 15 balls. For the Pink Brigade, Sixers, Sean Abbott bowled a magnificent spell of four overs, nine runs, and three wickets. On the other hand, Ben Dwarshuis took two wickets while Todd Murphy, Chris Jordan, and Hayden Kerr took one each. In reply, the Moises Henriques-led Sixers had a poor start as they lost three wickets for 25 runs.

However, the skipper and Jordan Silk scored one half-century each to take the team home. They won the game by seven wickets and 3.4 overs to spare. With this win, the former champions are closing in on a playoff spot.
