 Tamil Thalaivas skipper Pawan Sehrawat gets injured, taken out on a stretcher

Tamil Thalaivas have high hopes from Pawan Sehrawat after signing him for the ongoing ninth season of the Pro Kabaddi League. Over the years, he has won a lot of games for Bengaluru Bulls including the ‘Come from behind victory’  against Gujarat Giants in the season six final. In that game, the Bulls were considerably behind after the first half. However, the star raider’s heroics meant that the Red Army won the title.

Fast forward to this year, Tamil Thalaivas, who are yet to qualify for the playoffs, signed Sehrawat for a record Rs 2.26 crore. They appointed him the skipper of the side. The team played their first game of the ongoing season against Gujarat Giants on October 8. During the game, the skipper of the Thalaiwas got injured while attempting a tackle. Apparently, his teammate Sahil Gulia went to tackle Chandran Ranjit.

In the process, Sehrawat injured himself badly. In the replays, it was made clear that he sustained a knee injury after losing his balance. After this, he was taken out for treatment on a stretcher. He didn’t take any further part in the game.

After the game, the Chennai-based team’s coach J. Udaya Kumar assured the fans that Pawan will be back in just two to three days.  “He should be back in 2-3 days,” he said in the post-match conference. However, the sources say that the star player might be out for most parts of the ongoing tournament.

Talking about the game, the Thaliavas and the Giants played a tied game. The game finished at 34 points apiece. In Pawan’s absence, youngster Narendra took the responsibility of picking raid points. He scored 13 raid points in the game.
