In the last match of the Asia Cup 2022, India locked horns with Afghanistan in Dubai. Both teams were already out of the competition after losing against Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the ‘Super Four’. Hence, it was a dead rubber. But, both teams were looking to end on a high by winning the match.

However, India managed to register their first win in the round by winning the match by 101 runs. Virat Kohli scored his maiden T20I ton in the match. But, it came as he came out to open the innings with KL Rahul. After the match, during the post-match presentation, KL Rahul attended to the reporters. There, one reporter asked Rahul about the possibility of considering Kohli as an opener for the upcoming games after that fantastic knock. In reply to that, KL Rahul shared a funny answer. The video went viral quickly all over the internet.

Speaking of the incident, during the post-match presentation, KL Rahul was asked about the possibility to see Kohli as an opener in the next games. In response to that, KL Rahul said: “Then what do you want me to do? Sit out on the bench?”. Generally, India opens the innings with skipper Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul. Virat bats at the number three position.

In this match, Rohit Sharma took a rest. Hence, KL Rahul was the captain. In absence of Rohit, Virat came out to open the innings with Rahul. Eventually, he score his 71st international hundred after a long wait of three years. He remained not out on 122 runs off 61 balls only.

With the help of that knock, India posted a huge total of 212 runs by losing two wickets only in 20 overs. In reply to that, Afghanistan scored only 111 runs in 20 overs by losing eight wickets. Virat Kohli won the player of the match award for this fantastic knock.
