For the last five years, Indian bowlers have been performing well in the longest format of the game as they have been the main instrumental in winning games whether it was at home or away. But, on 5th July 2022 Indian bowlers failed to work their magic as they conceded the highest ever chase against England at Edgbaston.

Speaking about the match, Jasprit Bumrah was the captain of this match as Rohit Sharma got ruled out of the Test due to a Covid-19 infection. England won the toss and opted to field first. While batting first, India posted a total of 416 runs as Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja scored a century each in the first innings. They both put up a partnership of 222 runs for the sixth wicket and saved India from a humiliating total. In reply, England managed only 284 runs, thanks to Jonny Bairstow’s hundred.

However, with a lead of 132 runs, India tried to score more to put away England from the game. But, India got all-out for 245 runs as they set up a target of 378 runs for England. It was found out that it will be the highest ever chase for England in this format if they pull it off. Speaking about pulling off, both English openers started their innings brilliantly as they put up a hundred-run partnership.

Then, India took some quick wickets to bring back the momentum. But, Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow both remained unbeaten as they both scored a hundred each. They stitched a partnership of 259* runs as they ensured this historical victory for England in Birmingham. By winning this match, they leveled up the series and also destroyed the dream of India winning a Test series on English soil.

But, this loss did not go well for Indian fans as they took their social media account to share their disappointment with the Indian Bowlers. They also said that the Indian bowlers were absolutely clueless in front of the English batters in the fourth innings.

Here is how fans have reacted on Twitter regarding the performance of Indian Bowlers:
