Kerela Blaster, though, didn’t get the result they wanted as they lost 2-5 against ATK Mohun Bagan in Kochi on Sunday. It was Blasters’ Ivan Kaliuzhnyi, who opened the scoring. However, the visitors led a strong comeback. Dimitri Petratos pulled off a sensational hat trick, while Joni Kauko and Lenny Rodrigues netted one goal each.

With that, ATK Mohun Bagan continued their winning run against Kerala Blasters. The Blasters had great support on home turf but couldn’t win the game. As a result, they suffered their first defeat in 2 matches.

ATK Mohun Bagan’s head coach, Ferrando also shed light on playing under intense atmosphere and pressure. At the post-match press conference following the win over the Blasters, here’s what he had to say:

“Honestly, it’s good to play here. It’s amazing, the atmosphere here speaks football. (I saw) a lot of supporters before the match who were coming to the stadium, all were in yellow shirts, it was amazing. But, it’s difficult for the players to play here because the crowd is massive and there’s maximum pressure, and the players need to (learn) to work under pressure.”

“I think this point is very important for the players to improve, (especially) in this situation because this is normal football. I think it is necessary to work under pressure because this is what football is all about, here or in Europe or anywhere else. I’m happy with the character of the team after 10-15 minutes.”
