Delhi began its campaign in the Indian T20 League 2022 on a strong note. They won their first match against Mumbai by a margin of 4 wickets. In the next match, however, they got derailed from the winning track and lost the match against Gujarat. The biggest woe for them looked in the batting order. The batting lineup is lacking solidity at the top as a result there is an added pressure in the middle order, under which it is falling brittle.

1. David Warner for Tim Seifert: The star Australian batter David Warner has joined the Delhi team and has served the mandatory quarantine period. He will be available for selection in the next match against Lucknow. With him being available, they should include him in the first eleven in place of Tim Seifert. In the two matches that he has played in the Indian T20 League 2022, he has scored 24 runs at an average of 12. So, with Warner being available it is the most given change that Delhi will go with.

2.Yash Dhull for Mandeep Singh: In the first two matches of the Indian T20 League 2022, Mandeep Singh has just scored 18 runs at an average of 9. The underperformance on his part at an important position like number 3 is hampering the batting efforts of the team. It is probably time that Delhi looks beyond Mandeep Singh. They have the talented Yash Dhull sitting on the benches. Dhull has impressed everybody with his brilliant batting show in the recently concluded U19 World Cup. So, Delhi could back the youngster for the next few matches.

3. Anrich Nortje for Khaleen Ahmed: With David Warner, the availability of Anrich Nortje has also been confirmed by the Delhi camp for their next match. Ahmed has been decent with the ball in the tournament so far. He has picked up 4 wickets in the tournament so far. But with Nortje being available, Ahmed will have to make way for the South African. Nortje’s bowling average in the Indian T20 League is 20.56 and he had been an inevitable part of their bowling the last season. So, Nortje coming in place for Khaleel Ahmed is sure to happen.
