Punjab put in a dominant performance with bat and ball to beat Gujarat by 8 wickets, and, thereby, returned to winning ways on Tuesday. Kagiso Rabada starred with the ball as he picked 4 wickets for just 33 runs to help his team restrict Gujarat to just 143 runs in the first innings.

In pursuit of the total, Punjab chased down the score in just 16 overs. Shikhar Dhawan played a sensational unbeaten knock of 62 runs in 53 balls to hand his team his fifth win of the season. Amidst all, Liam Livingstone grabbed headlines in the final over of the match as he smashed Mohammed Shami a huge six, which went out of the ground.

27 runs were needed in the last 30 balls but Liam Livingstone ended the game in just 6 balls. He smashed three sixes and two fours in six deliveries to finish the game in the 16th over itself. Livingstone started the over with monstrous 117-metre six, which went sailing out of the ground. With that, he now holds the record for hitting the biggest six of this season and also finds his place in the top-ten biggest sixes in the history of the competition.

In the list of top-ten biggest sixes in the Indian T20 League, Liam Livingstone now finds his name at the 10th position. South Africa’s former cricketer, Albie Morkel holds the record for hitting the biggest six in the history of the competition. During the 2008 edition, Morkel smacked Pragyan Ojha for a huge 125-meter six. To date, it is the biggest six in the history of the tournament.

India’s Praveen Kumar has hit the second biggest six. In the 2008 edition only, he hit a 124-meter six while playing for Bangalore.

Adam Gilchrist smacked the 122-meter six in the 2011 edition, which is the third biggest six in the competition. Robin Uthappa’s 120-meter six in 2010 is at the fourth position. Turning up for Bangalore, he hit a monstrous six in the 2010 edition of the tournament.

The Universe Boss’ Chris Gayle’s 119-meter six in the 2013 edition of the tournament puts him at the fifth position. Yuvraj Singh finds himself at sixth position in the list. He also hit a 119-metre six during the 2009 edition of the Indian T20 League.

The inaugural edition of the competition witnessed a lot of monstrous hits. New Zealand’s former cricketer, Ross Taylor also hit a 119-metre six while playing for Bangalore. He sits at the seventh position in the list.

Gautam Gambhir, who wasn’t known for hitting huge sixes, holds the record for hitting the eighth biggest six in the history of the competition. He hit a huge 117-metre six during the 2013 edition of the Indian T20 League and, thus, finds himself at number eight on the points table.

At number nine is Ben Cutting, who also smashed a 117-metre six in the 2016 edition of the cash-rich league. Liam Livingstone’s monstrous 117-metre six off Mohammed Shami on Tuesday has helped him enter the list of the top-ten biggest sixes in the Indian T20 League history. He now sits at the tenth position.
