Kabaddi is known as one of the major sports in India. Even, though this country is a dominating force in this sport as India has won six of the seven circle style Kabaddi World Cups still now. Pakistan won the World Cup of Kabaddi in 2020. Over the year, several top-class players have come to represent India on such big stages. 

These players have always looked to give their 100% while representing India. However, its popularity went high to some extent in the last few years, thanks to these players. Since the introduction of Pro Kabaddi in India, in 2014 these players have become successful in attracting crowds to this sport.

Anup Kumar

This former Indian Kabaddi player was known as the “God of Kabaddi”. Anup Kumar won Asian gold medals in 2010 and 2014 for India as the captain of the side. He also represented his country in the 2016 Kabaddi World Cup. His playing style was famous for his fantastic raiding abilities throughout his career for his teams.

Anup also won one South Asian gold medal in 2016. Notably, he was a great player in Pro Kabaddi history also when he played for the Mumbai franchise for five years. Then, he joined the Jaipur franchise and now, he is the current coach of the Pune franchise.
