 Top Indian T20 League Stars Have Been Signed By The New UAE T20 League Franchises

The new T20 League in UAE, the International League T20 (ILT20) is going to happen next year in January. Indian T20 League franchises are backing this league. Hence, global cricket stars are looking to be available for this league over their respective leagues. On 8 August 2022, this new league released the list of already signed players for the first season.

They came up with an official tweet with a caption: “UAE’s International League T20, the #ILT20, has today announced a stunning line-up of the game’s super-stars has signed on to participate in the Inaugural event”. However, no players were found from some big countries like India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.

Apart from the first set of players, 33 more international cricketers signed for the new UAE T20 League

Speaking about the list of players, Global stars like Andre Russell, Moeen Ali, Wanindu Hasaranga, Alex Hales, Shimron Hetmyer, Chris Jordan and Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Dawid Malan, Sunil Narine, Evin Lewis, Colin Munro, Fabian Allen, Sam Billings, Tom Curran, Dushmantha Chameera, Akeal Hosein, Tom Banton, Sandeep Lamichhane, Rovman Powell and Bhanuka Rajapaksa have registered their names already.

Apart from these players, 33 more international cricketers signed for the inaugural season of this new league. This list includes Lahiru Kumara, Seekugge Prassanna, Charith Asalanka, Isuru Udana, and Niroshan Dickwella (from Sri Lanka); Kennar Lewis, Ravi Rampaul, Raymon Reifer, Dominic Drakes, and Sherfane Rutherford (from West Indies); Hazratullah Zazai, Qais Ahmad, Noor Ahmed, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Naveen-ul-Haq (from Afghanistan); Dan Lawrence, Jamie Overton, Liam Dawson, Richard Gleeson, James Vince, Saqib Mahmood, Ben Duckett and Benny Howell (from England); Blessing Muzarabani and Sikandar Raza (from Zimbabwe); Brandon Glover and Frederick Klaasen (from the Netherlands); David Wiese and Ruben Trumpelmann (from Namibia); Colin Ingram (from South Africa); George Munsey (Scotland); Paul Stirling (Ireland); and Ali Khan (USA).

Recently, Khalid Al Zarooni, chairman of this league, opened up on the approaching of players from the franchises. He said: “Over the past weeks, ILT20’s six franchises have started discussions and engaged with players, and players’ agents, to exercise their ‘Direct Acquisition’ rights,” However, some reports are there that current global stars will face issues to be available for this tournament. Meanwhile, this event will clash with the T20 Leagues in South Africa and Australia.
