Twitter Reactions: Jos Buttler dropped twice in same over, will Bangalore regret?
Rajasthan and Bangalore are facing each other in the 13th match of the Indian T20 League. Both entered the game with contrasting fortunes in the tournament. Rajasthan have won their first two games against Hyderabad and Mumbai. On the other hand, Bangalore lost to Punjab before bouncing back with a win against Kolkata. Following the trend, the three-time finalists won the toss and elected to bowl first on Tuesday.
The 2008 winners had a poor start as opener Yashasvi Jaiswal (4) was clean bowled by left-arm pacer David Willey. The team could only muster 35/1 in the powerplay, thanks to a disciplined bowling performance from the likes of David Willey, Akash Deep, and Mohammed Siraj.
Rajasthan needed to up the ante and Jos Buttler tried to take on Akash Deepak. After 6.3 overs, Rajasthan were at 37 for 1. On the fourth ball of that over, Buttler tried to slog a length ball outside the off-stump. However, he didn’t get the timing right and the ball went up in the air and went towards the deep midwicket area. Willey was stationed in the area and everybody in the team expected him to catch the ball as he wasn’t far away from the ball. However, the ball was swirling in the air and it fell away from the fielder.
In the meantime, the wicketkeeper batter from England took two runs. On the next ball of the over, the right-hander went on to hit a six, over long-off, adding salt to the injury. However, he wasn’t the only one to drop a chance. In the next over, the left-arm pacer from England came to bowl his last over of the game. On the third ball of the over, Mohammed Siraj dropped Devdutt Padikkal’s catch at Square Leg. The ball missed the hands of Siraj and went on to cross the boundary for a four.
