Mayank Markande: Mayank Markande caught the eyes of cricket critics in his debut Indian T20 league match with a googly that he bowled to take MS Dhoni’s wicket in 2018. Although still aged 24 years and a lot of cricket left in him, he has still not lived up to the expectations, leaving aside one or two match-winning performances in his first season.

Kamran Khan: Kamran Khan, the left armer who played for the Rajasthan team was believed to have a lot of potentials. Even his franchise captain Shane Warne was pleasantly surprised with him clocking 140 kmph regularly at such an early age. But failure to keep up consistent performances and also due to lack of exposure he did not make it big.

Dirk Nannes (overseas): A genuine pace bowler with great talent to bowl in the death overs, Dirk Nannes represented Netherland and Australia in the International circuit. Although he played for three franchises in the Indian T20 league, his injury woes did not let him rise to the shores.

Yusuf Abdulla (overseas): Yusuf Abdulla from South Africa represented the Punjab franchise in 2009. He finished the tournament with 14 wickets at an average of 17.21 which gave his career a temporary boost. But he failed to carry the impetus forward in his career.

All these players had the talent to make it big in the cricketing world, but inconsistency and lack of proper exposure in some cases brought their careers to premature ends. So, it is rightly said that the game of cricket is a great leveler while there are many success stories to be inspired from there are also stories of disappointments.
