Virat Kohli has been the most prolific run-getter for India in the post-Tendulkar era. He has played many memorable knocks for his team and taken India across the line on many occasions where victory looked nearly impossible. Such a performer is going through a very lean patch for the last couple of years. It has been now 105 matches across formats where he has not been able to cross the three figures mark. These 105 matches include 17 Tests, 21 ODIS, 25 T20IS, and 42 ITL games.

His form has become the biggest point of conversation among cricket fans. Well, in his tough times another professional from the same field ha stood behind Kohli. It is Mohamed Rizwan, the Pakistani wicket keeper- batter who has stood up for Kohli.

“I will say that he is a champion player but at this stage, we can pray for him because he is a hard-working cricketer,” Rizwan said during a conversation with Cricwick.

“And tough times do come and things do get easier too. Every player has scored centuries and got out on pairs and this goes on. I can pray for him and I am hopeful that through hard work, he will control all the things,” he further added.

Meanwhile, Kohli’s torrid time has continued in the 15th edition of the Indian T20 League also. He has just scored 216 runs in the tournament at an average of 19.64 and a strike rate 111.34. Speaking about the slump he is going through some of the cricket experts have opined that the batter looks overcooked and needs to take a short break from the action.

In a video with his ITL franchise Bangalore, Kohli has stated that he has learnt to drown out undue criticism over time.

“They can’t be in my shoes, they can’t feel what I feel, they can’t live my life, they can’t live those moments. How do you cut out the noise? You either mute the TV or don’t listen to or pay attention to what people are saying. I do both of these things.”- said Kohli about his critics trying to write him off.
