Royal Challengers Bangalore batter Virat Kohli hilariously copied the batting stance of RCB skipper Faf du Plessis during the practice session ahead of their last game against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Du Plessis was doing shadow practice and Kohli was imitating his shots by standing just behind him. Du Plessis noticed Kohli trying to imitate and shared a laugh with his opening partner and continued his practice. But Kohli again started imitating him.

Du Plessis is coming as an impact player for RCB as a batter from the last three matches as he is not fit enough to field due to his rib injury. In his absence, former skipper Virat Kohli is back to his captaincy duties again as he led RCB against Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals and KKR. In his three games as the skipper, Kohli won against PBKS and RR, but couldn’t continue his winning momentum against KKR.

RCB suffered a big loss against KKR

Talking about their last game at the M. Chinnaswamy stadium, batting first, KKR posted a total of 200 runs for the loss of 5 wickets, powered by the half-century by the opener Jason Roy. Narayan Jagadeesan and Roy gave a flying start to KKR by adding 83 runs for the first wicket in 9.2 overs.

Jagadeesan got out after scoring 27 off 29 balls, while Roy scored 56 runs off 29 balls hitting four fours and five sixes before getting out in the 10th over. After that, skipper Nitish Rana took charge in the middle overs, smashing 48 runs off 21 balls with three fours and four sixes.

Chasing the total, Kohli took charge of the RCB innings with wickets falling regularly from the other end. The RCB opener got out in the 13th over after scoring 54 runs off 37 balls with six boundaries. After his dismissal, RCB started losing wickets at regular intervals again and could only reach to 179 runs losing 8 wickets.

RCB have won four out of eight games played so far in IPL 2023, and, currently, stand in the fifth position on the points table. They will now take on Lucknow Super Giants on May 1st at the Ekana Cricket Stadium.
