After having a disaster England Tour earlier this month, Virat Kohli has taken some rest from ongoing India’s Tour of West Indies. Since 2019, he failed to score a ton for his country across all three formats. Hence, Indian selectors wanted him to be part of the Caribbean Tour.
But, as per reports, he personally wanted rest from that Tour. As of now, he is on a vacation with his wife, Anushka Sharma, and daughter, Vamika in Paris, France. Now, a big statement from Kohli got posted on Twitter by the Star Sports network ahead of the mega events in Australia, later this year.
Here is the shared post:
“My main aim is to help India win the Asia Cup and the World Cup” – Virat Kohli
In the released statement by the Star Sports network, Virat Kohli said that his ultimate mission is to help India in winning the upcoming major titles like the T20 World Cup, and Asia Cup. He said: “My main aim is to help India win the Asia Cup and the World Cup and for that, I am ready to do anything for the team,”
Recently, former cricketers like Kapil Dev raised questions on the selection of this veteran batter in the playing XI despite his poor run of form. Meanwhile, he got many supporters in the likes of Rohit Sharma, and Shoaib Akhtar. They came out to support him during such a tough time. Now, reportedly, Indian selectors may cut his rest short. They are looking to add him to the Tour of Zimbabwe later this month.
His form has been a concern for sure for the fans and Team management ahead of the T20 World Cup in Australia. Kohli’s form will always be crucial as his match-winning abilities can never be underestimated. It will be crucial ahead of the T20 World Cup in October and the 50-over format World Cup in next year in India. Hence, it will be huge if he manages to come out of his rough patch by helping India to win all the major titles in the upcoming years.
