In the meantime, India has taken a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. In Guwahati, the team led by Rohit Sharma will try to win the second game and seal the series. This series serves as a warm-up for Australia’s upcoming T20 World Cup. The Men in Blue will hope to do well in the remaining games in order to maintain their momentum in the mega event.

Pacer Mohammed Siraj has been called up to replace Jasprit Bumrah for the remaining two games. During the first game, the star pacer complained of a back problem and was ruled out for the rest of the series.

In the first game, India’s bowling was outstanding. Early breakthroughs by Arshdeep Singh and Deepak Chahar put South Africa in trouble. The Proteas were unable to recover and were restricted to a score of 106. India batted cautiously in the chase on a difficult batting surface. KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav both hit unbeaten half-centuries to help India win the game.

The series’ next match will be played on October 2nd.
