The FIFA World Cup 2022 came to an end with Argentina facing off against France on December 18, Sunday and it was the former who came out on top in the penalty shootout, given that Lionel Messi’s men were given a tough time by the French star Kylian Mbappe. While the 23-year-old scored a hattrick to his name, the veteran, on the other hand, shined with two goals, with Angel Di Maria scoring the other to push the game into the penalties.

Virender Sehwag, the former Indian cricketer, is known for his wit and funny memes, standing next to Wasim Jaffer in being active on social media. Eventually, the right-handed batter shared a meme involving Messi and it went viral right away, as the fans claimed that it was so relatable.

I enjoy being part of the national team: Lionel Messi

Opening up on the win, Messi said that the World Cup was a gift from God and added that he wanted to continue playing for his national team. Saying that he enjoys representing Argentina, the veteran added that he wants to enjoy a few more matches with La Albiceleste as the world champion.

“Obviously, I wanted to complete my career with this, (I) can’t ask for more. Finishing my career this way is impressive. After this, what else? I have a Copa América, a World Cup. Almost at the very end. I love soccer, what I do. I enjoy being part of the national team, the group. I want to enjoy a couple of more matches being a world champion,” Messi was quoted as saying after the win.

“It’s just crazy that it became a reality this way. I craved for this so much. I knew God would bring this gift to me, I had the feeling that this (World Cup) was the one. It took so long, but here it is. We suffered a lot, but we managed to do it,” said the veteran Argentinian footballer further when asked about carrying on with his international career.
