The former India opener, Wasim Jaffer is in strong contention to be a part of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). The reports state that he will be a part of the game development wing of the BCB. If everything falls in place Jaffer will be involved at the high-performance center with the national Under-19 team.

Jaffer has been previously involved with the BCB as he worked as their Batting consultant for the BCB academy for a brief period during 2019. He was engaged in upgrading the skills of the junior cricketers from Under-16s to Under-19s. He was also involved in the high-performance center as a consultant during the same period.

Towards the fag end of his career Jaffer also played in the Dhaka Premier League during the 2018-19 season. He represented the Abahani Limited team in the tournament.

Jaffer was known for his technical prowess during his playing days. He was considered a solid opener for the Indian team in the longest format of the game. Jaffer played 31 Tests for India. He scored 1944 runs in those matches at an average of 34.10. While his records in the international arena do not justify his abilities, he was nothing short of a legend in the domestic arena. He represented Mumbai and Vidharba in Ranji Trophy before drawing curtains on his playing career.

Jaffer has played 260 first-class matches and has scored 19,410 runs in them. He averages an impressive 50.7 in first-class cricket. He has also played 118 List A matches and has scored 4849 runs in them at an average of 44.1. Notably, he is the fifth-highest run-getter for India in first-class matches.

After his retirement from cricket, Jaffer is currently popular among fans for his social media posts. While he never fails to express his takes on the different aspects of the matches, he also posts some hilarious memes amusing the fans.
