It was a bad day for India in the field during the third T20I between India and South Africa in Indore. Apart from a few overs, the home team didn’t have an answer to the Proteas’ explosive batting on the small boundaries of the Holkar Cricket Stadium. In the midst of all this, the team needed some good fielding to stem the flow of runs.

However, there was an instance of poor fielding during the first innings. On the penultimate ball of the innings, pacer Mohammed Siraj was stationed at deep square leg. David Miller hit a low full toss from Deepak Chahar towards the same part of the field. Siraj might have caught at easily on most occasions. However, he made a mess of it as he stepped on the boundary line. In reply, Chahar hurled some cuss words.

Talking about the game. the Temba Bavuma-led side scored 227/3 after batting first. Quinton de Kock scored a brilliant 68 while Rilee Rossouw scored an unbeaten hundred off 48 balls. Miller, who scored a hundred in the second game, finished with 19 not out of five balls. In reply, India failed to chase down the total and lost the game by 49 runs. The likes of Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik got starts but couldn’t convert it into a big total.

Chahar scored 31 runs after the team lost eight wickets for 120/8. The team ended up getting all-out on 178 runs. However, the home team has won the series 2-1 as they won the first two games. This is also India’s first bilateral T20I series win at home against South Africa. Now, the 20-20 World Cup 2022-bound Indian player will head to Australia on October 6. In the meantime, both teams will play a three-match T20I series.

The Men In Blue has announced their squad for the ODI series which will see new faces such as Rajat Patidar and Mukesh Kumar. On the other hand, the visitors will play with their full-strength squad. After all, the series is part of the ongoing ODI World Cup Super League.
