In recent times, a picture of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo playing chess had been doing rounds on the internet. The picture was an ad campaign for a luxurious brand. Meanwhile, the brand has released a video behind the scenes. In the video, both legendary players spoke about playing their fifth FIFA World Cup.

In the video, Messi was heard saying: “This will be my fifth World Cup. He then stated that his biggest triumph has been the love he receive from his country. The most memorable victory was being acclaimed by the Argentinian people. It was a great victory for me.”

On LV and the World Cup, the Argentina player said, “I think it’s spectacular that trophies travel in Louis Vuitton. This trophy is so important, it is the greatest award of all in football. It deserves the best of the best.”

Ronaldo was also talking about similar topics and said: “This will be my fifth World Cup so I think it is a great achievement.” He then expressed joy about winning the 2016 Euros for Portugal. Ronaldo talked about how all major sporting events use LV cases for their trophies, including the FIFA World Cup and called it ‘fantastic’

This is my last World Cup: Lionel Messi

Meanwhile, a while back, the 35-year-old announced that the now ongoing World Cup in Qatar is going to be his last. However, he hasn’t announced his retirement from the game after the tournament.

“There’s some anxiety and nerves at the same time. It is the last one,” Messi said in an interview with Star Plus.

Talking about Messi, he played his first World Cup in 2006 which was played in Germany. Eight years later, his side came to winning the title as they played Germany in the final. However, they lost by 1-0. The ongoing World Cup will be his last chance to lay his hands on the title before moving on.
