On 28 August 2022, India opened their Asia Cup campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan in the UAE. Fans were eager to see both teams in action after last year’s match in the T20 World Cup. Meanwhile, India lost last year’s match against them in the last T20 World Cup. Hence, India was looking to do well this time around with big-name players returned to the squad.

India won the toss and opted to bowl first. But, Pakistan batters found it tough against India’s bowlers. India went with veteran Dinesh Karthik over Rishabh Pant in the final playing XI. However, Dinesh Karthik took a blinder when Hardik Pandya took the wicket of Iftikhar Ahmed. The video got viral and it got surfaced all over the internet.

Speaking of the video, Hardik Pandya was bowling in the 13th over of the match. However, it was the first delivery of that over. Pandya bowled a pacy bouncer to Ahmed. He tried to pull it away. But, he ended up knicking it to Dinesh Karthik. 

However, it was not an easy catch as the ball was traveling fast and at a considerable height. But, Karthik took the catch by making a long jump. He made it look easy after taking that spectacular catch. Iftikhar Ahmed scored 28 runs off 22 balls at a strike rate of 127.27. He hit two boundaries and a single six. 

Speaking of Pakistan’s innings, Pakistan got bundled out for 147 runs in 19.5 overs. Hardik Pandya took three wickets for 25 runs in four overs. Along with him, Bhuvneshwar Kumar also grabbed four wickets for 26 runs in four overs. Arshdeep Singh also chipped in with two wickets by conceding 33 runs in 3.5 overs. Mohammad Rizwan was the lone fighter from Pakistan. He scored 43 runs off 42 balls, including four boundaries and a single six. Now, Indian openers will come out to bat to chase down the target of 148 runs.
