Former India skipper Virat Kohli turned 34 years old on November 5. While he has been receiving from billions of people, his Indian T20 League teammate, Glenn Maxwell also wished him. Both players have been playing with each other in the Bangalore franchise since the 2021 edition. Meanwhile, a day ahead of Kohli’s big day, Australia’s batting all-rounder has wished Kohli on his 34th birth anniversary.

After the Super 12 game of the ongoing 20-20 World Cup 2022 between Australia and Afghanistan, Maxwell spoke to the broadcasters. During the conversation, the anchor brought up the former India skipper’s birthday. In reply, the two-time World Cup winner mentioned his friendship with Kohli. Maxwell said that he will still text Virat on November 5.

“Yeah, so tomorrow, I just want to wish a very happy birthday to one of my very good friends, Virat Kohli. Hope you have a great day. I’ll send you a text anyway. Enjoy, mate,” said Maxwell in a conversation with Star Sports

Talking about Glenn’s national side, they won their last Super 12 game against Afghanistan by four runs. The defending champions needed to win by a huge margin to go past England’s Net Run Rate (NRR). Even though it wouldn’t have guaranteed them a spot in the semis, they are now completely dependent on Sri Lanka.

Apparently, the Lankan Lions will play their last game of the tournament against England. The Three Lions just need to win their game to advance to the semis. On the other hand, Virat’s team is sitting comfortably and is likely to play the semis. Their last game will be against Zimbabwe on November 6. They just need to win the game and top the Group Two points table. However, if Pakistan loses its game against Bangladesh on the same day, India would automatically qualify for the semis.

However, they would finish second in the Group and would play their semis against their nemesis, New Zealand.
