KL Rahul was chosen the captain of India for leading the side in the home T20I series against the Proteas. But, on the eve of that series opener, he got ruled out due to his groin injury. He also missed the full England Tour for India for the same reason.

For recovery, he went to Germany and had a successful surgery. Now, as per plan, he came back to India and was seen in the National Cricket Academy, Bangalore on 18 July 2022. He was seen batting at the nets against the Indian women’s bowler, Jhulan Goswami. The video got viral quickly and got circulated over the internet as it got shared by fans.

Here is the shared video of his net session:

KL Rahul is included for the T20I squad against West Indies later this month

Speaking of the shared video, Rahul was seen timing the ball pretty well while a second video showed Goswami forcing Rahul to cut a ball that landed perfectly. KL Rahul is expected to make a return in India jersey in the upcoming T20Is against the Caribbeans, subject to fitness. Hence, he is looking to use the nets at the Academy to prepare and judge whether he’s fit to play next week.

On the other hand, Jhulan Goswami did not play any international match since the World Cup in March 2022. Hence, this video suggested that she is also looking to make a comeback soon. However, she will not travel with India for the Commonwealth Games as she retired from the shortest format of the game. She will look to play the upcoming England Tour in September 2022.

Ahead of the upcoming T20 World Cup, KL Rahul’s form will be a major boost for India if he made a good comeback after the injury setback. He will get the West Indies series and Asia Cup to get prepared fully before entering the mega event in Australia later this year. Therefore, Indian fans will be relieved to see him back on the nets in Bangalore.
