In the ongoing 47th game of the Big Bash League 2022-23, Melbourne Renegades and Sydney Thunders are locking horns. The game is been played at the Manuka Oval, Canberra. In the game, the Renegades won the toss and elected to bat first. They kept losing regular wickets as they could only amass 142/9 at the end of the innings. Will Sutherland’s innings of 42 off 23 balls helped the team reach the total.

Talking about the batting, six batters failed to cross the double-digit scores. On the other hand, for the Thunders, Pakistan international Usman Qadir and uncapped Australian, Chris Green took two wickets each. On the other hand, Daniel Sams, Nathan McAndrew, and Brendon Doggett took one each. In reply, the 2015-16 winners, Sydney had a good start as David Warner and Matthew Gilkes stitched a partnership of 57 runs in eight overs.

In the ninth over, Corey Rocchiccioli took two back-to-back wickets. The first one was of Warner while the next one was Olivier Davies. The latter stepped out of the crease to play the ball towards between long-on and deep midwicket. However, Davies failed to keep the ball down and was caught by diving Matt Critchley.
