Watch: MS Dhoni cheekily lauds Dwayne Bravo during Chennai’s match against Delhi

The 55^th match of the Indian T20 League 2022 saw Chennai play Delhi at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. The Men in Yellow gave a clinical performance as they dominated their opposition in all the departments of the game. Chennai registered an emphatic win by 91 runs in the match. With the big win in the match, Chennai kept their chances of making it to the playoffs alive.

Meanwhile, during the match, MS Dhoni was seen enjoying a light moment on the field. The incident occurred in the 17^th over of Delhi’s innings. The striker Anrich Nortje punched a ball from Maheesh Theekshana to the cover region. Dwayne Bravo did a pretty good job in stopping the single. MSD immediately lauded Bravo’s efforts but in a cheeky way while pulling his leg over his age. He was caught saying: “Well done old man.”

The moment even left the commentators in a split. Dhoni and Bravo have been playing for the Chennai team since 2011 and are known to share a great bond. The bond between the two was evident in the video of the incident that went viral.

Vintage MSD

Speaking of the match, Chennai got a great start as their openers laid the foundation with a 110 runs partnership. Devon Conway displayed brilliant batsmanship scoring 87 runs off 49 deliveries. But they lost a few wickets in the middle phase and started to lose momentum in their innings. It was MSD who turned the clock back and played a vintage Dhoni knock. He scored 21 runs off eight deliveries and helped his team to a mammoth total of 208 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their 20 overs.

In reply, Delhi kept losing wickets from the very beginning of their innings and was never in the chase. The Chennai bowlers especially Moeen Ali (3 for 18) bowled brilliantly and bundled Delhi for a total of 117 runs.
