On 21 September 2022, Guyana Amazon Warriors took on Jamaica Tallawahs in the 25th match of the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL). The match took place in Providence. Speaking of the match, Tallawahs won the toss and they asked Guyana to bat first. However, Guyana won the match by 12 runs. 

Odean Smith won the player of the match award for his all-around performance in that match. But, during Guyana’s batting inning, Smith managed to hit five sixes in an over. His brutal hitting in that over became the talk of the town as the video went viral all over the internet. Fans also went crazy as they shared the same video on Twitter.

Odean Smith scored 42 runs off 16 balls along with two wickets with the ball

Speaking of the video, the incident took place on the 18th over. Migael Pretorius came up to bowl that over. Odean Smith was batting for Guyana. But, fans went crazy as Smith hit five sixes in that over. He smashed Pretorius all around the park with ease. Only the second ball of that over was a dot. Pretorius also bowled a wide. Thus, he conceded 31 runs from that single overs.

However, Odean Smith scored 42 runs off 16 balls, including six over-boundaries. Along with him, Shai Hope also scored 60 runs off 45 balls. Keemo Paul remained not out on 24 runs off 12 balls, including two fours and two sixes. These innings helped Guayana to score 178 runs by losing eight wickets in 20 overs. For Jamaica, Mohammad Nabi took three wickets by conceding 12 runs in two overs. 

In reply, Brandon King scored 104 runs off 66 balls, including eight fours and seven sixes. He smashed those runs at a strike rate of 157.57. But, other batters failed to support him as they got bundled out for 166 runs in 19.5 overs. Odaon Smith also took two wickets by conceding 26 runs in 1.5 overs. With this win, Guyana managed to win their second match of this year’s CPL.
