Former India skipper Rahul Dravid had an illustrious career while playing for the country from 1996 to 2012. During this period, he played 164 Tests and 344 ODIs. In 2011, he made his T20I debut in a one-off game against England, only to retire after the game. He retired from ODI cricket in the same year, followed by retirement from the Test format in 2012 after the horrendous tour of Australia.

Meanwhile, during the second ODI between India and Sri Lanka, the Bangalore player’s numbers were pulled out. The numbers were visible on the TV screen for the people watching the game from home. On the other hand, the numbers were also visible on the big screen inside the stadium. Dravid saw those numbers and his reaction was priceless. The incident was caught on camera and is going viral ever since.

Rahul Dravid has the challenge of guiding the team to the World Cup this year

Meanwhile, the former India skipper has the challenge of guiding the Men In Blue to an elusive World Cup title later this year. On the first day of 2023, the Indian Cricket Board conducted a review meeting for the 20-20 World Cup 2022. in that tournament, the Rohit Sharma-led side lost the semifinals to eventual champions, England.

Notably, the team lost by 10 wickets. With this loss, the team’s wait for lifting the World Championship Trophy continues since 2013. Around 10 years ago, India won their last title as they beat the Three Lions in the Champions Trophy 2103 final. Since then, the team is yet to win a World title. This year, India will host the ODI World Cup later this year after 2011. In that tournament, the then-MS Dhoni-led side beat Sri Lanka in the final to lift the title.

Notably, this was the start of home teams winning the World Cup which is in continuation till now. India would want to continue the tradition later this year
