The ongoing first Test between Bangladesh and India has become interesting in the ongoing Day Four. After having their backs on the wall for the first three days, the home side has shown some restraint. After being asked to chase an improbable 513 runs at the end of Day three, they are not ready to give up.

The opening pair of Zakir Hasan and Najmul Hasan Shanto put together 124 runs for the first wicket. The partnership ended in an interesting fashion. Apparently, in the 47th over of the innings, Umesh Yadav managed to get an outside edge from Shanto’s bat. The Red Kookaburra headed straight to Virat Kohli at slips. However, the ended up almost shelling as he failed to hold on.

However, wicketkeeper batter, Rishabh Pant showed a great sense of awareness and managed to correct Kohli’s wicket. With this, India finally managed to breakthrough the Bangladesh’s opening pair.

Talking about the game, Zakir Hasan, who made his debut in the ongoing game, has scored his maiden Test ton. He got out after scoring his century. At the time of writing, the Bangladesh Tigers have lost four wickets for 208 runs, needing 304 runs to win with six wickets in hand and four sessions to go.

On the other hand, the likes of Litton Das and Yasir Ali failed with the bat. The wicket at the Chattogram isn’t much of a turner as the ball is turning occasionally. The bowlers would have to work hard to pick wickets. It will be interesting to see if Bangladesh can take the game on Day Five. Bangladesh’s win is going out of the window with every wicket.
