After remaining in the shadows for the majority of the tournament, Naman Ojha finally took charge at the front in the Semi-final. Playing against the mighty Australian Legends the right-hand batter smashed 90 off 62 to lead Indian Legends into the final.

What followed was an even better performance in the final, as the 39-year-old batter smashed a match-winning century against Sri Lanka Legends. Taking to the crease in the first innings, Ojha thwarted all challenges from Sri Lanka’s bowling lineup and held India’s innings from one end.

The host team got off to a poor start as legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar departed early without opening his account. Suresh Raina also failed to solidify India’s batting as he was dismissed at just four runs. Ojha however held the fort from one end and kept the scoreboard moving.

The Ujjain-born cricketer showed immense class to take India’s total past 190 clinching his maiden RSWS century in the process. Ojha reached his century in a grand fashion with a six on the first ball of the 19th over. What followed was a celebration from him and the reaction from Sachin Tendulkar that has gone viral on social media.

Upon clinching his century, Ojha took off his helmet and bowed down to the dugout. Each of his teammates stood on their feet and applauded his match-winning knock. Team captain Sachin also appeared to give thumbs up to the batter and commended him for his great century.

As for the game, it was a fairly straightforward win for the host team as they produced a massive score of 195 in 20 overs and defended it successfully. Sri Lanka struggled from the word get go and none of the top-order batters could string up a solid partnership in the middle.

Ishan Jayaratne came up with a quickfire half-century, but it proved to be too little, too late in the dying embers of the game. In the end, Indian Legends won the match by 33 runs and clinched their second Road Safety World Series Trophy.
