In less than 24 hours from now, New Zealand and India will be in action at the Sky Stadium in Wellington for the first T20I. Ahead of the game, both teams have been preparing well so that they can start the series well. Meanwhile, in the practice session, Sanju Samson was seen hitting ‘No-Look’ sixes in the open nets.

In the video that is going viral, he hit two sixes without looking toward the ball after hitting for a few seconds. The right-hander would be itching to get a game and do well. Over the years, he hasn’t gotten enough opportunities. After he was snubbed for the Asia Cup and the 20-20 World Cup 2022, the fans weren’t happy.

However, with Dinesh Karthik likely to have played his last game and Rishabh Pant not having the best of form, Samson might play the first game.

It will be interesting to see at which number he plays. Given the squad, he is likely to play at number three and keep wickets as well. The opening slot might be occupied by the likes of Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill. Talking about Samson, he had a good run with the bat whenever he played this year.

This time around, he would be looking to carry on with the same form. Talking about the game, a lot of players alongside the Keralite will be looking to prove their mettle in the absence of senior players. The series will also mark a new era for both teams as they start looking into the future after losing the semis of the 20-20 World Cup 2022. New Zealand lost to Pakistan while India lost to eventual title winners, England.
