Watch: Security officials slap and escort ‘Pakistani JARVO’ off the field

On January 11, Pakistan and New Zealand played each other in the second ODI of the three-match series. The series is being played at the National Stadium, Karachi. The home team was leading the series 1-0 after winning the first game. On the other hand, the Blackcaps needed to win to keep the series alive. Meanwhile, during the game, a Pakistani fan tried to be a ‘JARVO’.

Apparently, it looks like the individual was a Mohammad Rizwan fan. The wicketkeeper batter was at the crease when the fan invaded the pitch. Unlike the original JARVO, the fans reached the player as a fan. In the meantime, the officials got a hold of him and escorted him out of the park. After crossing the boundary line, one of the officials slapped the fans from behind.

New Zealand beat Pakistan to level the series

Talking about the game, the Kiwis won the toss and elected to bat first. After losing Finn Allen in the first over, the likes of skipper Kane Williamson and Devon Conway laid a great platform. Both put together 181 runs for the second wicket with the latter scoring a hundred. However, after the fall of their wickets, the visitors lost their wickets in quick succession and were bowled out for 261 runs.

In reply, the Babar Azam-led failed to chase down the total as they were bowled out for 182, losing the game by 79 runs. The Pakistan skipper was the highest scorer with 79 runs. After the game, he said  “We came back well with the bat. But when the spinners came on, it was turning sharply. Credit to them. Rizwan and I wanted to take deep, and then analyse from the 40th over onwards. When Agha came, we thought of moving on. Today the spinners were getting a lot more help. The pitch in Karachi is always better in the second innings, but played differently today.”
