The Super 12 game of the ongoing 20-20 World Cup 2022 between Zimbabwe and Bangladesh was a treat to the fans. After struggling for 40 overs, the Asian side came up trumps in the game which was a must-win for both sides. On the other hand, the Southern African side wasn’t ready to give up easily as well. After losing five wickets for 69 runs, the likes of Sean Williams and Ryan Burl took the game deep.

However, just when it looked like Sean Williams will do a Virat Kohli, the former got run out. The incident happened in the penultimate over of the game, bowled by Shakib Al Hasan. On the fourth ball of the over, Williams tried to steal a single. However, the veteran all-rounder from Bangladesh wasn’t ready to concede the single.

He went for the ball and hit the ball on the stumps. Notably, the throw was executed off balance which makes it one of the best fielding efforts of the tournament.

This dismissal turned out to be a turning for the Red Brigade. Even after Richard Ngarwa;’s heroics in the last over, Zimbabwe fell short by just three runs. With this win, Bangladesh Tigers have kept their and Pakistan’s semis hopes alive. For the unversed, Pakistan needed their Asian neighbors to keep their semis hopes alive as the 2009 winners have lost their first two games. Currently, Pakistan is playing against the Netherlands and is in a strong position to win the game by a huge margin.

At the time of writing, the Orange Brigade’s innings ended on 91/1. Now, Babar Azam’s men would look to mow down the paltry target as soon as possible. Vice-captain Shadab Khan took three wickets while Mohammad Wasim took two. On the other hand, Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Haris Rauf took one each.
