After having a successful White-ball format tour of England earlier this month, India was scheduled to play a three-match ODI series against West Indies from 22 July 2022. As big stars like Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli got rested for this ODI series, Shikhar Dhawan got appointed as the captain of this series.

However, India came up victorious again only by three runs. In the match, India was asked to bat first as they set a target of 309 runs. Now, during the chase, Shikhar Dhawan was seen doing a crazy step while diving to stop a ball. The video got viral and circulated quickly over Twitter.

Shikhar Dhawan was seen doing push-ups while fielding against West Indies

Speaking of the video, Yuzvendra Chahal was bowling and the batter hit the ball straight to Shikhar Dhawan. Dhawan dived left of him and saved the ball. But, in continuation, he did some push-ups with a smile on his face. It showed his funny character to the game as he always looked to bring some uniqueness to matches.

Speaking about the match, West Indies won the toss and elected to field first. India managed to score 308 runs by losing seven wickets in 50 overs. Shikhar Dhawan scored 97 runs off 99 balls while Shubman Gill managed to score 64 runs off 53 balls. However, after having a brilliant start, the Indian middle-order experienced a mini collapse as they failed to score 350+ runs against West Indies. Alzarri Joseph and Gudakesh Motie were the picks of the bowlers from West Indies who grabbed two wickets each.

In reply, West Indies batters fought superbly as all got chipped in with some crucial contributions. Opener Kyle Mayers was the highest scorer with 75 runs off 68 balls. In the end, it was Romario Shepherd’s 39-run cameo that helped West Indies to reach up to 305 runs in 50 overs. India won this last over-thriller by just three runs while Shikhar Dhawan won the player of the match award.
