Watch: Sri Lanka all-rounder picks first-ever hat-trick in Lanka Premier League

In just the second game of the ongoing Lanka Premier League, Sri Lanka all-rounder, Wanindu Hasaranga took a hat-trick. While playing for Kandy Falcons, he took the wickets of Dinesh Chadimal, Benny Howell, and Seekkuge Prasanna in the seventh over. In total, the Falcons skipper took four wickets that included the wicket of his national teammate, Angelo Matthews.

Notably, this is the first-ever hat trick in the history of the tournament that started in 2020. In the first two seasons, no bowler could do so. Also, this is his second T20 hat trick. The first one came during the 20-20 World Cup 2021 against South Africa in Sharjah. Meanwhile, his recent hat trick has become the talk of the town and the video of it is going viral on the internet.

Talking about the game, the Hasaranga-led Falcons batted first and amassed 199/1, thanks to Pathum Nissanka (71) and Andre Fletcher (102*). In reply, thanks to Hasaranga’s hat-trick, Colombo Stars were restricted to 90 all-out, losing the game by 109 runs.
